Winter fishing can be fantastic in Charlotte Harbor. In fact Boca Grande fishing is great year round, although there’s something special during the winter months. The egg robin blue sky, the cool hazy sea fog rolling in the afternoon, electric  hot pink sun rises. Winter time in Charlotte Harbor bring all kinds of visiting wild life as well as eagles, white pelicans and loons .

The fishing heats up as the water temperatures cool off. Kingfish, mackerel, grunts ,snapper and grouper are species you will catch on a half day of fishing. These fish can be found just off shore in cool clear blue waters. Winter time on the barrier islands of southwest Florida is a tropical paradise.

The back country of Charlotte Harbor offers excellent fishing as well. There are great tides in the winter that transform the “woods” into a skinny water fishing adventure. Snook, redfish, trout and 10 to 25lbs sized tarpon.  Giant mangrove canopies glowing green against the pink plumage of the roseate spoonbill . Crawling red fish on the flats rolling tarpon with in the creeks . Snook “popping ” mangroves edges.
